Drop in any shot from a phone or a camera. You’ll see it as the canvas itself, then on a to-scale wall, so you can judge the size against real furniture instead of guessing from a number.

You choose the shape — we don’t choose it for you

Keep your photo’s own proportions, or recrop to a different shape right here. Nothing sends you off to another tool. If your photo is an odd shape, it can print at its exact proportions rather than being trimmed to fit a standard frame size.

The sharpness meter, in plain terms

As you pick a size we tell you the largest one your file can print sharp. At ordinary sizes we want at least 150 pixels for every inch of the finished print. On the biggest canvases we ask for a little less — down to 120— because a 40×60 is seen from across the room, and asking a file to be sharp at arm’s length on a print nobody views that way just means turning down sizes that would look right on your wall.

This is the step that doesn’t exist at most print shops, and it’s the reason a file that looked fine on a phone doesn’t become a disappointing canvas. Software can measure pixels. It cannot tell you the photo is slightly out of focus.

What a human catches that a meter can’t

• Soft focus and motion blur. A blurry 40-megapixel file passes every automatic check and still prints blurry — bigger just means bigger and blurry.
• Compression damage. A photo that’s been texted, re-saved, or pulled off social media carries artefacts that only appear at size.
• Screenshots and screen grabs. They’re usually far smaller than they look, and often carry interface edges.
• What matters in the frame. If a crop is about to cut through someone’s head, we’d rather ask than print it.

If we can enlarge it, we do

When a file is a little short of the size you want, we enhance the resolution in-house before printing. There’s no charge and no extra step for you.

If we can’t, we stop and ask

When a photo genuinely won’t hold up, we put the order on hold and email you the exact reason the moment we flag it — you’ll see it as “Needs you”on your order. Nothing is charged again and nothing is cancelled; it waits for your reply, and we pick it straight back up. Sending a bigger file, choosing a smaller size, or cancelling for a full refund are all still open at that point, because we haven’t printed anything yet.

Canvas and fine-art paper are printed to order in our own studio — nothing is warehoused, and nothing about them is handed to a third party. (Metal is the exception: those are made and shipped by our metal partner.)

The ink is cured into the material

We print with latex inks, which cure into the canvas or paper rather than sitting on top of it. That’s what makes the result scratch- and water-resistant, and why a canvas needs no glass and no lamination to survive normal life on a wall.

Then it’s stretched — or rolled, if you’d rather frame it

Ready to hang is gallery-wrapped: the canvas is stretched over 1.5-inch solid wood bars, wired, and ready for the wall the day it lands. Rolled in a tubeis the same printed canvas, unstretched — for framing yourself, taking to your own framer, or travelling with. Rolled costs noticeably less because there’s no wood, no stretching and no assembly — a 24×36 is $139 rolled against $249 ready to hang.

What happens at the edges

On a ready-to-hang canvas the picture wraps around those 1.5-inch sides, and you choose how they look:

• Mirrored — the default. The edge reflects your photo, so nothing is lost from the front.
• Photo continues — your image carries around the sides, which means roughly 1.5 inches of it wraps out of view.
• A solid colour band — white, black, or a colour you pick, leaving the whole photo facing forward.

The surface is a real choice too

On canvas: satin is our standard — soft and low-glare, the safest choice for a bright room or a wall facing a window. Gloss is brighter and deepens colour. Metallic adds a pearl sheen. On fine-art paper: photo gloss or archival matte, the fine-art choice, shipped rolled in a protective tube.

Prints are made to order and ship in about 5–7 business days. You get an email with tracking when it leaves us, and you can follow it any time from your orders page. Shipping is free right now— we’re covering it, so there’s no shipping line at checkout.

If you ordered a print from a photo, we keep that file on hand so you can order it again later — a second copy, a bigger size, a replacement — without hunting down the original. Sign in with the same email and it’s there. If you uploaded something and never ordered, we delete it automatically after 30 days. Either way, you can ask us to delete it sooner.
